What did you do this past week?

I spent this last week driving home for Thanksgiving. After I submitted the Darwin project on Tuesday the rest of my week was pretty chill.

What’s in your way?

Now that I’m with my family I am definitely going to be distracted and need to make sure I stay on top of any classwork that I need to have done.

What will you do next week?

Hopefully the classes that I do have next week won’t be too intense since I’m not at home in my usual space. Aside from any classwork I’ll have to do, I will be spending time with my family and completing some personal projects that I have been trying to find the time to do.

If you read it, what did you think of the Paper #13: Why Extends Is Evil?

This paper has made the most sense to me of all the last few papers that we have read. The specific examples of why interfaces are better than abstract classes were really well done, and I will definitely favor interfaces over base classes in the future.

What was your experience of vector and allocator? (this question will vary, week to week)

This week’s lessons were a little more difficult for me to understand relative to the last few weeks. I am definitely going to be going back over the lectures during the break to make sure I have a thorough understanding of the material.

What made you happy this week?

I really enjoyed the drive back to El Paso this week. I don’t get many opportunities to drive on nice straight roads out in the country and go much faster than I should in my car and so I make sure to get the most smiles per mile that I can while being safe.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

I’ve been keeping a notebook with me while I plan out how I want to go about doing the projects for this class. I find having handwritten notes really helps me in being able to completely think through my designs.
