Where did you grow up?

I moved around all over the U.S growing up but the place I was at before UT was El Paso.

What high school did you attend?

I went to Chapin High School in El Paso.

Why are you majoring in CS?

I’m majoring in CS because I really like doing software development. I think that it us just amazing how, with the right knowledge, we can make insanely complex machines do whatever we want.

Why are you in this class?

I heard that this class is great for giving you the tools and mindset that you need to be successful in the industry.

How much C/C++ do you already know?

I have some experience with these languages, but I know just enough to have gotten me through some classes at UT. I never use these languages outside of classes.

How did you like the first lectures?

So far, the lectures have been great. The lecture that was docker focused was especially interesting because I have often heard of docker but never really investigated it until now.

How did you feel about the cold calling?

The cold calling was awesome! It really makes the class feel more personal.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

I’ve been finding that keeping a notebook with any software projects is useful. Sometimes it’s easier to write things down as I go along and can refer to later. Plus, you can get more creative with how you note things than just writing TODO lines in code.
